What do you like best about being a Farmers Market Vendor?
Being a Vendor makes me feel part of a community that cares about creating and supporting quality items that are local and hand made.
What attracted you to the River District Farmers Market?
I’ve walked the area a few times previously and found it to be quite peaceful and lovely. Then I spoke about potential markets with a couple of friends who live in the area, they love the market and suggested I give it a try; I’m so glad I did!
What’s your passion other than baking wonderfully delicious treats?
Travel, both near and far, is my other passion, though I haven’t travelled as much lately as I’d like. Of course, scouting out the best food experience is always a prime focus while travelling!
What’s your favourite part of job?
The best part of being a vendor is meeting market visitors (and their canine pals!), as well as sharing the experience with other vendors. People watching I find endlessly fascinating.
What’s your least favourite part of the job?
I call it The Schlep: transporting everything to the market, setting up (the tent, ugh!), and then tearing it all down and stuffing it back in the car a few hours later. Fortunately, everything else involved makes up for The Schlep.
How do you unwind after a long day at the Farmers Market?
Butt firmly planted, feet elevated (most important) and a glass of cool, dry white wine close at hand.
