Introducing Isabelle, River District Farmer Market Manager Extraordinaire

We are excited to welcome back the River District Farmers Market for another season #downbytheriver. It’s not an easy task putting together a Farmers Market but Isabelle Bottin, our Farmers Market Manager for the past 4 seasons, makes it look so seamless.

This season, we’d like to introduce you to some of the wonderful vendors who will be participating at the River District Farmers Market. We’re asking each participant the following questions.

Let’s start with Isabelle.

What do you like best about being a Farmers Market Manager?
I enjoy being a Manager as I get to meet many great people involved in a large community of self employment and inspiring ideals. I have always enjoyed supporting people in small business and local products.

What attracted you to the River District Farmers Market?
I was attracted to the smaller community feel outside of the hustle and bustle that I live in (the West End). This is a beautiful place, full of nature and that’s why I enjoy coming to River District as the river is such a peaceful setting. I enjoy how this community comes together and have met some wonderful people.

What’s your passion other than being a Farmers Market Manager?
My passion is …  good question. I focus on making healthier decisions for myself and family and work towards living each day in a positive way. Today’s struggles have impacted all of us so my passion is to approach life and live it, enjoy the moments that we get, and the opportunities to explore. I love travel, meeting new friends, supporting my 2 sons, and trying something new.

What is your favourite part of the job?
Sunshine, meeting new people, and knowing that we had a great day!

What is the least favourite part of the job?
RAIN and setting up way too many tents!

How do you unwind after a long day at the River District Farmers Market?
I usually like to relax on my deck and watch the sun go down while eating whatever I got from the Farmers Market with a glass or bottle of red wine while listening to the music playing.
