Say hello to March which means spring is just around the corner. Flowers blooming, birds singing and people out enjoying the beautiful River District neighbourhood. This month join MLA George Chow in a discussion about transit. Do you have an idea to share with the River District community? Join us for a Neighbourhood Small Grant Workshop to have your idea become a reality. For Easter this year, we have something very special planned so mark your calendar and stay tuned.

Transit Talks with MLA George Chow

Share your thoughts on transit in River District and the surrounding neighbourhoods with your representative. Help identify the needs of your community: new bus routes? more frequent services?

Neighbourhood Small Grants Workshop

SVNH English Dialogue

Dates: Alternating Saturdays from March 10th
Time: 11:00am to 12:30pm
Place: Neighbourhood Centre (8683 Kerr St)

Formerly known as English Conversation Cafe, English Dialogue is back for the spring on alternating Saturday mornings. Each session will focus on a specific topic to discuss. For more details, click here.

Ladies Night: Spring Cleaning Getting Healthy

Date: Tuesday, March 27th
Time: 6:30 to 8:30pm

Join Teryl & Rebecca for a fun & informative evening as they share how they got their spring back in their step & learn to feel lean, clean & energized. Light refreshments will be served.


River District Farmers Market – Call for Vendors

The River District Farmers Market is returning for its 6th season #downbytheriver. We are currently issuing a call for vendors to join our Farmers Market starting in late May. Local Vendors, we want to hear from you.

Ladies Clothing Donation 

With Spring around the corner, it’s time for a little Spring Cleaning. We’re collecting gently used ladies clothing (and men too) at the Neighbourhood Centre until the end of the month and we make sure it goes to a worthy cause.

Lost and Found

We have a growing collection of lost or left behind items at the Neighbourhood Centre. So, if you’re missing something such as a water bottle, clothing, glasses or keys. Come on by, see if your item is here and waiting to be found.
