September 2019 Community Newsletter

September 2019

September is here and the summer crowd is slowly dwindling. Down by the river, we’re able to witness the passage of time and the beauty of the season’s changes as we welcome Fall. Winter is a few months away but we have activities lined up that will shake the oncoming blues out of your system.

We’re excited to welcome new programs and events to River District such as introductory Belly Dancing classes and a free Yoga class at Town Centre. The City of Vancouver will also be joining us this month to host a couple of Open Houses to provide us with a planning update.

Join us for upcoming activities at River District.

A look back at some of the fun had at River District.

Fraserview Tides of Time Walking Tour

A big thank you to Rob Howatson for the walking tour through River District! It was a beautiful and enriching way to spend Sunday morning learning about the different narratives and history woven into our neighbourhood. We’ll forever be imagining sawmill workers sitting on logs, floating down the river on their way home as we watch the logs passing by us now. Who knew our community has so ‘hip’ before its time.

Ladies Night – Gemstone Jewelry Making

Ladies Night was an enjoyable night of crafting and creativity as we created handcrafted bracelets and earrings from beautiful gemstones. Gemstones like agate, amazonite, rose quartz with affirmations and meanings which we were able to customize to create a special jewelry for ourselves or as gifts for our loved ones.
